LEED or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design is a set of directives created by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) designed to promote the building of environmentally friendly structures. The LEED program falls right into our sensibilities. New Construction (NC) and Existing Buildings (EB) that meet the LEED specifications are honored with a LEED certification.

TPS polished concrete can help your projects achieve LEED certification points in at least two categories. The program takes the various aspects of a buildings environmental impact into account and then rates the building on a standardized point scale system leading to a LEED building certification.

TPS believes that every one shares in the care of our planet and we are proud that polished concrete offers a sustainable and green flooring option. Polished concrete is an odorless, nonflammable and nontoxic system. It is also durable, easy to maintain, free of VOC (volatile organic compound) emissions and highly reflective, which may reduce light level requirements.

LEED Certification

Polished concrete helps meet this mark because it reduces impacts from construction or demolition, reduces heating and cooling loads, eliminates the need for hazardous chemicals or other dangerous components and, as a non-emitting material, releases minimal pollutants. TPS is proud to be able to help our customers earn LEED certification points. Our polished concrete can help you acquire points as defined in the Materials & Resources (MR) Credit 1- Building Reuse and the Indoor Environmental Quality categories. Please ask our Business Development professionals about how you can earn LEED certification points in both New Construction and Existing Building restorations with TPS.
